Breakout

Session: Technology Admin and Working with the Curriculum Side of IT

Phil Scrivano
11/18/2009, 8:00am  - 9:15am
Royal Palm Two
Better lesson plans, better filters, and better reporting.

Phil Scrivano brings his 21 years in public education as a former sixth-grade teacher, junior high vice principal, IT director, and FCMAT management analyst to answer the question, How can school districts balance technology reliability and costs with the needs of curriculum? Phil will discuss the benefits and risks associated with integrating technology resources into the curriculum from the standpoints of CIPA compliance and student learning. Attendees will gain a better understanding of both the common abuses of the network and how Internet resources are some of the most valuable tools a teacher can employ. Most important will be a discussion of what is needed to go forward: better lesson plans, better filters, and better reporting.
