Ft. Stockton adopts zero client virtual desktops, eliminating aging, problematic PCs
Through this session, faculty, administrators and IT staff will discover how Fort Stockton ISD in Texas replaced expensive and malfunction-prone PCs with a zero-client approach to desktop virtualization, allowing them to utilize existing IT infrastructure to save on costs and provide trouble-free computing access. The district replaced PCs in computer labs used by students and staff throughout the district to slash maintenance demands and setup times while enabling users to access their personal virtual desktops from any device on the network. No more do resources have to be dedicated to specific uses. This case study will explore how zero client technology sheds the weight associated with PCs, including the processor and companion problems, enabling greater computing access and flexibility.
