This past year has really gone by fast and I am extremely grateful
to have served as your 2007 CETPA President.
First, let me say THANK YOU to the all the members of
CETPA for allowing me to serve as president. I hope I have served
you well and have met your expectations. Secondly, I would like
to express my appreciation and gratitude to the members of the
CETPA board for their support, guidance and friendship. Without
their hard work and support, the annual conference and all of its
duties and responsibilities would not have gone so well. Finally, I
like to extend my greatest THANK YOU, appreciation, gratitude
and friendship to CETPA’s Executive Director Andrea Bennett.
Andrea has put in countless hours coordinating, organizing and supporting not only
CETPA, but me as well.
This past year’s theme was “Enabling Opportunity” and was it ever. The CTO Mentor
Project completed its first year with the class of 2007 and I wish the graduates success in
all the opportunities in that come their way. This project would not have been a success if
not for the support of the mentors, instructors, advisory committee members, steering committee
members, Fiscal Crisis Management Assistance Team (FCMAT) and the California
County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA).
The CETPA board also created a partnership with the Consortium of School Networking
(CoSN) to form the California chapter called the 3C Council. The chapter held is its
first successful CTO Clinic in July with more than 100 attendees and there are plans for a
second clinic in the near future.
I have enjoyed serving you as the 2007 CETPA president and I hope I can serve again in
future. While there are opportunities that present itself to us everyday, the one thing that
lasts forever are the friendships that are renewed and created within the CETPA membership.
With that in mind, I want to take this moment for all of us to remember Charlie
Garten in our hearts and all of his contributions to the CETPA membership of family and
friends.
In closing, I wish to THANK YOU ALL! I know you will be in excellent hands with the
new CETPA President Warren Williams and the CETPA board of directors
