President's Message
Carl Fong Information Technology Executive Director
It’s 2007 and CETPA’s 47th year. As we move into a new year, your board continues to look for opportunities to better serve the membership. In 2006, the CETPA Monterey Conference theme “Shaping the Future” introduced collaborative projects such as the Chief Technology Officer’s Mentor Project (CTO) and CETPA CoSN California (3C) Council.
Is this the end of the road? Absolutely not, 2007 is the year of looking for opportunity in all areas of technology and collaboration with other agencies that will enhance the K-12 Educational Community in Leadership, Technology and Education.
In the past four decades, CETPA’s membership and Annual Conference has grown significantly to meet the changing demands of the K-12 Educational Community. Your CETPA board will continue to focus on the objectives of improving CETPA’s online presence to better meet the collaborative needs of the membership; continue to organize and promote professional enrichment programs; establish active and strategic outreach with other organizations and committees that has been set. In addition, we will also be looking at additional ways of enhancing and increasing the membership as well.
While this issue is coming hot off the press, the first of many selected candidates will start the Chief Technology Officer’s Mentor Program in February. At the 2007 CETPA
Conference in October at Indian Wells, these candidates will be recognized for their hard work and effort. I would like to wish them all success on this journey. I am honored to be selected as president for a prestigious organization like CETPA in 2007 and I look forward to serving you and our membership.
