Databus Issue: 2006 4 10/17/2006
President's Message
Darryl LaGace PresidentThank You For All Your Hard Work
We are finishing up CETPA’s 46th year and I am pleased with all we have accomplished. CETPA has established new affiliations and continues to strengthen our partnerships with organizations considered to be key resources for technology professionals in K-12 education. CETPA continues to grow and as a result provides even more resources to it members.
The theme of this issue of DataBus is Security. Keeping up with the latest security for your desktops, networks and email is always a challenge and we hope this issue provides valuable information for you. The topics covered in this issue include information on what to do during an attack on your systems, firewalls, physical, desktop and email security and email privacy. In addition, there is a Forensic Focus and Cyber Safety and our reoccurring articles on E-rate and Best Practices.
Be sure to read the profile on Andrea Bennett, CETPA’s new Executive Director. Andrea will assist your board in continuing the excellent progress we have made this year.
In my final message as your President, I would like to take a moment to personally thank the 2006 CETPA Board for all of their hard work this year. We had many goals and objectives that required us to stay focused and productive and we have succeeded! The first CTO Mentor Project cohort will begin in February and the California chapter of CoSN will begin to grow and become a valuable resource for us.
