The keynote address of the CETPA conference is an opportunity to set the tone for the entire conference. Past conferences have provided attendees with outstanding information and motivational material from a wide range of distinguished industry-leading presenters. This year, we were extremely fortunate to have not only one outstanding keynote presenter, but two, nationally recognized speakers.
Beginning our conference on Wednesday morning was a keynote presented by Dr. Willard R. Daggett. Dr. Daggett is the President of the International Center for Leadership in Education. He is known worldwide for his efforts to move the education system towards more rigorous and relevant skills and knowledge for all students. He transfixed the audience with an engaging presentation on emerging technologies and on what graduates need to know and be able to do in today’s globally competitive world.
CETPA was extremely fortunate to have Susan Patrick as our featured keynote for Thursday morning’s address. Ms. Patrick is the former Director of the Office of Educational Technology for the Office of the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Education. Currently, she is the President and CEO of the North American Council on Online Learning (NACOL). Her keynote address built upon the foundation of Dr. Daggett’s presentation and addressed the challenges of preparing our students to be successful in tomorrow’s ever-changing environment.
Both keynote presentations were enthusiastically received by the CETPA membership and many questions were asked and answered by the presenters. CETPA is grateful for the quality of this year’s keynote presentations and we thank both the presenters and members for their contributions which made these events so outstanding.
